The Norwegian developers have presented the first beta version of Opera 9.5. The program is still raw, full of errors and is not recommended for normal use, but I could not resist.
On the official website you can find a large list of changes (and here is the translation). I especially want to highlight:
- The speed of operation. Usually, when developers release a new version of the browser, everyone reports an acceleration of work. And as a rule, this is not the case :) Opera 9.5 has every chance to be a pleasant exception: so far the beta version is faster than Opera 9.24.
- Working with Google Docs Spreadsheets. For me, this is the most important novelty, since I constantly have to deal with Google's online spreadsheets. Previously, you had to run FF, now you can not abandon Opera.
- Synchronization. The user can synchronize bookmarks, items in the Speed Dial, buttons-settings in the Personal Bar. This is a big step towards users working from multiple computers (many have several machines at home, not to mention the traditional example of home-work). I hope that in the future it will be possible to synchronize news feeds as well. By the way, if you use the Opera Link service, you can synchronize bookmarks not only between computers, but also a computer and, for example, a mobile phone.
- History search. Usually, when we start entering a link in the address bar, the browser offers options from previously visited sites. Here, the search is carried out not only by addresses, but also by all stories (including page titles). The convenience is that when you don't know the address exactly, but remember at least partially the title, it will be easier to find the page.
There is one unpleasant moment so far — the display of only cached images is broken. But surely there are other bugs. However, I still really like Opera 9.5, I'll leave it as the main browser.
