The comedy "Serf-2" beat "Avatar" and became the second highest-grossing film in the history of domestic distribution. This is evidenced by Serf 2 / EAIS recent data from the Unified Federal Automated Information System for information about Film Screenings in cinemas (UAIS).
Klim Shipenko's tape has already earned 3.522 billion rubles and its rental is still ongoing, while James Cameron's super hit managed to collect 3.516 billion in 2009. Moreover, the picture with Milos Bikovic broke the billion mark in just a couple of days after its release. This was facilitated by the premiere during the New Year holidays.
Now Kholop-2 is ahead only of Cheburashka, which earned an incredible 6.787 billion rubles last year. Interestingly, at one time, the picture about the cult character also displaced the "Avatar".
The first part of "The Slave" in 2019 earned 3.082 billion rubles and for several years was the most successful domestic film at the box office of the Russian Federation. It was also shot by Klim Shipenko.
