According to their assumptions, one full cycle lasts about 90 minutes. If our sleep proceeds calmly, without irritating factors, then we will wake up after the end of several sleep cycles, i.e. after 4 ½, 6, 7 ½ or 9 hours. Thus, a person feels much more rested after 6 hours of sleep than after 7 or 8 hours.
At a conference of the US National Institutes of Health, Daniel Kripke, Professor of psychiatry at the University of California, announced recommendations for optimal sleep, which experts agreed with:
— do not take sleeping pills
— don't go to bed until you want to sleep
— get up at the same time every day
— avoid watching TV, reading books in bed before going to bed. If you like to read or watch movies before going to bed, then do it in a chair, not in bed
— do not eat or drink anything caffeine-containing before going to bed
— avoid drinking alcohol before going to bed. It relaxes at first, of course, but in the future it can lead to insomnia
— spend more time outside, in the fresh air
Separately, we would like to tell you how you can relieve fatigue and cheer up if you haven't had enough sleep. Drink a cup of coffee and immediately after that take a nap for 15 minutes. While the caffeine is passing through the gastrointestinal tract, you will have time to rest. Set the alarm for 15 minutes (no more), and then close your eyes and relax. After waking up, you will feel cheerful. This is an effective microson.
