"The Expendables-4" will be released in September. Many expected to see at least a couple of scenes of Trench Moser performed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, but in a new interview for Parade, the actor officially declared: he is done with this franchise — just like with "Terminator ".
I've had enough, I'm not involved in this anymore. I told [Stallone] that I wouldn't be in the movie. And he really understood me.
The actor noted that he starred in the first film at the request of Sylvester Stallone. Filming took place quickly: the scenes with Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis in the church took two hours. Then he spent the weekend to participate in the second part, and two years later, again at the request of Stallone, he returned for the third part.
In the first film, the characters of Schwarzenegger and Willis were episodic characters, but the fans liked it, so in the sequel they already had a more important role and a little more screen time.
Willis stopped appearing in The Expendables after the second film, but Schwarzenegger starred in a couple of scenes for the third. In the triquel, his role was reduced to a cameo, so it's not surprising that he refused the fourth part altogether.
At the same time, Schwarzenegger casually mentioned that he plans to star in another film with Stallone in the future — but did not give details.
