Despite the fact that the main work is done by the legs, special attention should be paid to the work of the hands when running. Everything is interconnected in your body and proper handwork will help you maintain balance better and run much easier and faster. Do not clamp your fists too tightly, your arms should be bent and make cyclic movements along the body, not in front of the chest. The shoulders are naturally relaxed.
The position of the body can largely determine the pace of your movement. Do not look down and do not lean forward, it will shorten your step. Try to stay straight, don't slouch.
The technique of footwork depends on your pace and distance. With normal recreational running, the most natural steps are medium-length steps with a soft landing on the middle part of the foot and subsequent rolling on the toe and pushing off. Try not to "shuffle on the ground" and not to hit too hard — everything should be soft and natural.
The right choice of shoes plays a special role in running. Although it is quite possible to train and even win marathon distances barefoot, it is still safer and more convenient to use special sports shoes with a soft springy sole.
Have a good run!
