appeared in Zoom Zoom might have just got you out of joining tedious long video calls for good a tool called Zoom Clips. It allows you to record, edit and share short video messages with colleagues.
To do this, the organizer needs to record a video inside the platform, and then change the sharing settings by providing it to specific people. After that, all of these colleagues will be able to view it at home. If desired, you can comment on the entry or leave reactions under it.
All such videos are saved in a new "Clips" tab. Analytics are also available there, allowing the author to make sure that the recipients have viewed the recording.
In addition, Clips supports virtual backgrounds and noise reduction technology, as is the case with regular calls.
There are two versions of Zoom Clips: Zoom One customers get access to Clips Plus as part of their plan at no additional cost. Everyone else can only use Clips Basic now, with a number of restrictions — you can record no more than five clips up to two minutes long. Starting in December, the extended plan will be available to everyone on a separate subscription for $7 (≈600 rubles) per month.
The company hopes that the new tool will help teams reduce the number of meetings they attend and improve employee performance.
