On the Web, many users complain OafishWither66 / Reddit for an unusually long video download on YouTube: with a stable and fast Internet connection, the site interface loads with a long delay.
After analyzing the YouTube code, enthusiasts discovered NBPEL / Reddit the setTimeout function, which stops the download for 5 seconds. At the same time, this function is not performed in Chrome and Edge browsers and the download proceeds immediately.
This is probably not a conscious decision, but just a mistake or residual code. It is possible that the firewood was broken during the implementation of the ban on ad blockers. Until this is fixed, users of other browsers can use the User Agent parameter change — so that YouTube thinks that you entered through Chrome, although in fact you have Firefox.
To do this, it is enough to install a browser extension — for example, User Agent Switcher (Firefox) or its analogues. Such extensions work the same way: they add a button to the toolbar to change the User Agent. Select Google Chrome from the list and try to log in to YouTube — this should fix the situation. Viewing in a private tab also helps some users.
