A new social network Norm has been launched in Russia. The creators (they launched Sadgram last spring) position it as a social network for "normal people". This is a recommendation platform with relevant content, in which unfair cheating methods will not work.
Instead of likes, here is the reputation that the user gains or loses depending on the quality of his posts or the products he promotes. There is also a second indicator — karma. It depends on what other users think about your ratings and comments.
It is noted that reputation in Norm is subjective. Each user sees how relevant the profile of another person or brand is for him, so the reputation of the same page will be displayed differently for different people. It's like a handshake system: the closer the person who rated the post is to you, the more weight his voice will have.
Since each user is responsible for ratings and invitations with their own reputation, it will be unprofitable to wind up or buy ratings: ratings from dummy accounts will be irrelevant to ordinary users. Such a system should help promote really cool brands, businesses, as well as authors of photos and texts. At the same time, users whose advertising campaigns get a bad reputation are denied access to advertising at all — even for money.
The Norm app has already been released on iOS and Android. So far, you can get there only if you have an invitation, but the service also offers to sign up for a waiting list. To do this, you need to specify the first and last name, as well as add a photo and wait for the approval of the profile.
