There is a drawback in modern geo-social services — they will tell you who is the "mayor" of which institution, they will give advice that the waiters are terrible somewhere, but it is very difficult to understand what is the most delicious in these establishments, where is the most delicious steak in the area or what is with pizzas in your city at all. The new OINK mobile app from Kevin Rose, the creator of Digg, seems to be able to change everything for the better.
The video will tell you briefly about the application, and then watch our mini-review.
The application uses a database of places from Foursquare, and we can provide information about the best things in these places.
The principle of filling is interestingly implemented. Only users with the Builder status can share their tips, which is not given immediately, but after some time of use and your request. The rest of the app users just consume the content.
In order to find "something the best at some distance from you", you need to select the tag you are interested in in the Discover section or set a search word. I set the search area — Global by the keyword Steak. Naturally, nothing was found in our area, but I'm sure it's a matter of time.
By viewing these offers, you can set your rating, increase the rating, or add to your To-Do list.
When you add your review, you give it a name and prescribe tags. It is worth doing them both in Russian and in English, then there is a better chance that a review will be found. Next, add photos with filters applied. It is worth saying that the filters here are very moderate and do not spoil the photos, as does the same Instagram*.
By adding different reviews on topics and tags, you become an expert on the chosen topic and your reviews become more important than the rest.
Today, the OINK version exists only for iOS.
