We have all been incorrigible narcissists for a long time. Nowadays, self-admiration and the desire to share a self-portrait with all your friends does not cause confusion and censure. But let's at least do it wisely. After all, there are too many pictures with the hashtags #me, #selfie, #yourself, #self-photo, #me, #selfie, and Instagram * often resembles some kind of school competition "Who is cooler".
Why exactly 21 years old? This is the age of majority in the USA. And America, in the case of Instagram*, acts as a trendsetter.
Therefore, if you are over 21 years old, you are too old to use self-portraits to collect likes and tell the news. A new haircut? Wonderful! New glasses? To the studio immediately! Unshaven mustache? Definitely post! Is that the case with you too? Leave it to the teenagers and put the camera back!
The exception to the rule is fashion bloggers, models and all those who earn a living by their appearance.
Never write something like:
If you don't go into details, just ask yourself: "What would Kim Kardashian do?" And do the opposite.
A selfie is like a salary: for most, it is issued only twice a month (advance + balance). You haven't forgotten that in the user profile, photos are displayed in a grid of only 12 square previews? So, among them there should be no more than two of your selfies.
No duck lips. No ironic "All pis". No photos of you supposedly sleeping. No crying babies in the background. If you do not fulfill these conditions, your friends have every right to make fun of you.
It is not forbidden to show your true emotions. You need to frankly admit what you really want to say with your picture. For example, for a shirtless photo, the caption "Look at my pumped-up abs, guys" fits much better than "LOL, I have a dirty mirror in my bathroom." Be honest. Telling the truth is not a bad thing.
