Microsoft has started distributing the redesigned Paint image editor to Windows users participating in the Windows Insiders program (Canary and Dev channels).
Visually, one of the main changes was the support for a dark theme. By default, the editor's design will adjust to the system settings, but users will be able to customize the theme color separately.
The scale of the image in the new version can be adjusted with greater accuracy. The standard preset values remain, but the dimensions can also be adjusted using a slider or entering a specific value. Also, a button has finally appeared that adjusts the image to the size of the window.
The Image Properties dialog box has been adapted to the Windows 11 style and the new application background, and other dialog boxes have also been redesigned to match a single design. In addition, hotkeys have been added to the toolbar for more convenient keyboard operation.
It is not yet reported when the new version of the application will be available to users of the stable version of Windows 11.
