Bloggers threw a basketball into the ring from a height of 260 meters

Youtubers from the Dude Perfect channel have published a new video in which they showed how they broke the record for basketball shots from a height. They have already done this in 2016, throwing a ball into the ring from a tower 161 meters high. But in 2018, their record was broken by the authors of the How Ridiculous channel, making a throw from 200 meters. In 2023, Dude Perfect decided to regain the title, raising the stakes even higher.

They requested access to many buildings with a height of more than 200 meters, and after dozens of refusals, they found those who agreed to provide the site: the owners of the Stratosphere skyscraper in Las Vegas. They decided to throw from the 121st floor at a height of 260.9 meters.

Time was limited: bloggers had access to the Stratosphere only for three days. At the same time, it was windy in Vegas, so the ball could easily fly hundreds of meters away from the goal. Which, in general, happened: the wind was so strong that even the protective net stretched around the court did not help, it was impossible to control the ball.

For three days, none of the thrown balls even touched the ring, let alone hit. In addition, in the first two days, many attempts could not be made because of the wind: it was simply dangerous to continue. On the third day, we were much more lucky with the weather. Time was running out, but in the last hour a miracle still happened. Here is this moment in the video:

A successful throw was preceded by more than a thousand unsuccessful attempts, but it was not in vain. Now we just have to wait to see if anyone will break this record.
