It seems that Spotify is preparing to increase the number of subscribers of the service, offering an extremely profitable offer — albeit with its drawbacks. So, now a new Spotify Plus subscription is being tested, which in the US costs only 99 cents (≈73 rubles) per month — while a regular individual subscription costs $ 9.99 (≈728 rubles).
Currently, only two options are available to all users: a Premium subscription (individual, family, student and for couples), which opens access to all the features of the service, and a free mode. The latter has a number of limitations: you can not skip more than 6 tracks per hour, you can choose songs from only 15 playlists (in fairness, they are regularly updated, and some are formed taking into account user preferences). You can also not download tracks to your device to listen offline.
The new Spotify Plus plan is a cross between these two versions, offering the possibility of unlimited skipping tracks and free access to the entire audio library, but with the preservation of advertising.
A new subscription is now being offered to some users in test mode, participants are selected randomly — and, it seems, only in the USA. Spotify also clarifies that the fate of the new tariff plan depends on the response of people, so in the end the conditions may differ. It is unclear whether the available features or the subscription cost were meant.
