James Cameron is writing a script for the new Terminator. He told about this at the Dell Tech World conference.
The director started working on the film three months ago. However, he has paused now — he wants to see how AI will develop before going further.
Back in December last year, Cameron said that he was discussing the issue of staging a new "Terminator". Then he noted that he was thinking of launching the franchise again, but with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, and not on crazy bad robots. There are no other details about the future film yet.
Cameron directed the first two Terminators. He returned to the franchise only in 2019 as a co-producer of the sixth film "Terminator: Dark Destinies".
Earlier, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted that he no longer plans to play the role of the Terminator.
