In iOS 17, it is now possible to use Siri in Russian without an Internet connection. Offline mode is already available on smartphones and tablets, starting with the iPhone XR and iPad Air 3.
Lifehacker tested the innovation on iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 17.0.3 and it really works. Without a network, the voice assistant can be used to set alarms, timers, change settings on the phone, launch applications, perform simple calculations on a calculator and other basic functions.
Here Siri has turned on the timer, although the smartphone is in airplane mode:

Previously, all this required a constant Internet connection. Now it is needed only for complex tasks. For example, searching for information or managing a smart home.
In fact, the offline mode for Siri appeared back in iOS 15, but only in English. Then Apple reported that the new feature increases the speed and security of the assistant's work, since in this case requests are processed on the device itself, and not on the company's servers.
