Analysts of Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) shared a recent report on the smartphone market. This is an annual statistic dedicated to buyers of new iPhones and the United States and the platforms they used before.
It turned out that 83% of buyers exchanged one iPhone for another, 15% switched from Android, and about 2% switched from other systems, push-button phones or bought a smartphone for the first time. In the previous three years, the share of those who switched from Android was 10-11%, and 15% of transitions between systems were last observed in 2018.
CIRP researchers note that they plan to analyze the reasons for the platform change in one of the future reports.
Earlier, the same company told that Apple managed to increase the average cost of smartphones sold from $882 in March 2022 to $988 in March 2023.
The reasons are the popularity of the iPhone 14 Pro and the presence of a more expensive Plus model in the lineup instead of the relatively budget mini in previous generations.
