Now meditation is often discussed on forums – often at the same time it seems more complicated and confusing than it really is.
The essence of meditation
"Mind, shut up!". That's all. We constantly talk to ourselves, often without noticing it: we plan, think about problems, solve them. What will happen if you stop for a while?..
The purpose of meditation
... and it will happen that the mind will begin to do things that it is not capable of in a "normal" state. It is strongly not recommended to read about how this is done before meditation, otherwise your expectations will negate all efforts. Besides, no one will tell you what you will get. Some just relax, some develop the soul – others don't get anything at all.
Three steps
- Sit down – but not on a soft one. You need your back to be straight. And in the chair you just fall asleep.
- Relax – breathe deeply for a couple of minutes, relax your muscles, clear your mind of thoughts, and then ...
- ...find the word that you will use during meditation – and start using it. Something simple and euphonious: peace, God, love. You can even make a sound: "om" or something like that. Whatever you choose, repeat it on the exhale. The thing is that when the mind starts to return to its usual thoughts, you can calm it down with just this word.
Three tips
- Start with a short meditation – 3-5 minutes. It's hard not to think at first.
- Extend the time to 20-35 minutes, doing as you like – but at least once a day.
- We need to try it out. Many do not get anything from the first classes and quit – others wait for the first results for several months, and meditation changes their lives. It will also change yours.
