Windows 10 support will end completely on October 14, 2025 — from that moment on, the system will no longer receive security updates. The release of new features was stopped this year. And although Microsoft's priorities are to transfer as many users as possible to Windows 11, the company will still leave the opportunity to safely use the system after the designated period.
Jason Leznek, Chief Product Officer at Microsoft, announced Plan for Windows 10 EOS with Windows 11, Windows 365, and ESU / Microsoft Blog The Extended Support Program (ESU) for Windows 10. It will be available for 3 years from the end of standard support and will allow you to receive monthly security updates — for a paid subscription with an annual renewal. The cost has not yet been specified, but in the case of extended support for Windows 7, the cost was raised annually, and the amount also depended on the number of computers that needed to be updated.
If in the case of Windows 7, the ESU program was available only to corporate users, then ordinary users will be able to extend the life of Windows 10. But Leznek stressed that even with the extended program, Windows 10 22H2 will remain the latest version of the system, and users will not receive any new features.
