The star of "House of the Dragon" Matt Smith revealed the approximate release dates of the second season of the series. He thinks The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show / BBC that the sequel will be released in August this year.

Although the second season of "House of the Dragon" has been confirmed for over a year, HBO has not yet announced a release date. There was no information about the release even after the filming process was completed in September 2023. Previously, the company only assumed that the series would be released in August. Apparently, they decided not to abandon the initial deadlines.
The first teaser of the sequel was released in December.
The "Game of Thrones" prequel has become one of the few shows that were not affected by last year's strikes in Hollywood. The script was completed before the WGA went on strike, and the team was able to continue filming, as most of the cast consists of British actors working under a local contract.
The second season will include eight episodes. This is two less than it was in the first one. Earlier it was reported that HBO is already preparing for the production of the third one.
The House of the Dragon tells about the power struggle between the Targaryens. The events in the series unfold 200 years before what we were shown in Game of Thrones.
