Frankly, I did not expect such interest, I thought there would be no more than 20-30 comments, but the topic flared up, critics came who do not agree with what I am doing. By the way, critics, I love you. What you write is great and I am ready to answer your questions.
Question: Let's say you have solved the issue of money. What kind of adventures do you want to get? What have you always dreamed of?
In this post, in addition to the task that I have prepared for you, I want to answer questions and debunk some myths about life in travel, so that no illusions develop, because illusions are something that often hinders us.
In your comments, I saw that many people do not consider themselves an expert in something or consider themselves an expert in some narrow field. Look what a thing, you may be designing some super-mega-space nanorabots that travel the galaxy. I see that there are specialists among you in very narrow fields, and it is really difficult for such specialists to exchange their knowledge for money on the open market. But there is also a hack here, let's say you have a hobby: photography, soap making, whatever. If you are interested in this, you know how to do it, then this knowledge should be appreciated, and you can earn money from it. I saw in the comments that a person is engaged in wedding photography, there are so many interesting things to tell here: how to photograph, what to photograph, from what angle… I have a client who receives 200-300 thousand in photos per month. For those who work in the office, this is probably a cosmic sum. For me, 2-3 years ago, it also seemed like space. When you get your "free payment", the world is limited by what is possible, what is impossible. You wonder how someone can earn a million a day, because it's impossible at all. This passes with time.
The second myth is that Alex has earned millions, now he travels on them, when I have millions, I will also travel. Bullshit! Why? Because I earned these millions for employers. And that's my pain. When I had to quit, which I absolutely do not regret, the situation turned out that I earned it all for them. It's their money, I'm not a millionaire yet. But this does not prevent you from traveling! I'm not waiting for me to become mega-rich!
I have a friend who is engaged in business, he is already 35 soon, he dreams that at 35 he will retire and travel. In fact, he will not, because he will continue to develop his business, control everything further, structure everything so that it is all sustainable and safe. And when to live? Have you noticed that mostly pensioners or students travel? There are very few middle-aged people, well, at least on excursions I notice it. Why? Yes, because people postpone life for later. This is the biggest mistake — to live a life and in the end it turns out that it turns out it was possible to travel more. We have 14 or 15 countries now. I've already lost count. We had breakfast in France, we have lunch in Geneva, who knows where we will have dinner.
The following myth, which is very common, and is actively fueled by people: if you are traveling, then you are resting. You know, if I had rested all this year, I wouldn't have anything at all. I get up at 6 in the morning, work until 12, and then we look at the sights, walk. I've always had a dream — to take a car and drive around Europe. And it is carried out in the process, in the process I am working. Now I am engaged in a serious startup, in which money has already been invested, there are investors who came themselves, because they see — an active person. I didn't need to run around investors and persuade them: "invest money in my project." People themselves came and said, "We see what you're doing, it's right, let's unite." Great! Let's see what happens.
i.e. I work the same way. Well, on Saturday, Sunday we rest. We can go to a club somewhere, fly to Ibiza, hang out in a patch, Amnesia. We love to have fun! But everything is within reasonable limits. This does not mean that we do nothing for a whole year. I'm bored of doing nothing. I like to create, I like to do, I like to promote different projects.
The next point is about the projects. You probably have already noticed, from above, in the header of the Lifehacker, the link is an honorary Lifehacker. I have my own project and. Naturally, I am moving it on all fronts. I see that Lifehacker is a very interesting place where there are very interesting people who have brains, which is the most important thing. And I see how people underestimate their knowledge. I put a lot of information (video, audio, texts) in free access, you can subscribe. If you suddenly feel that you want to buy something from me, then do not hesitate, no one forbids you to do this, but also no one forces you to do it. We work on the principle of trust marketing. Read Seth Godin's book "Principles of Trust Marketing" sometime. I can't say that I have "clients", I have "students". People come to me who want to exchange their knowledge for money, who want to travel more. I have done a great course for them, many things are explained there step by step.
Well, now the promised "homework". There are people who strive for comfort, there are people who strive for adventure. I am interested in communicating with those people who are eager for adventure. Surely you have some kind of adventure that you would really like to experience, to experience. So I wanted to take a car, travel around Europe. All my office conscious life I wanted this, I did it, at least I'm in the process now, in the middle of our journey. You probably also have an idea that is stronger than laziness, stronger than skepticism, stronger than thoughts: will it work or not, can I trust Alex, or maybe it's all a mirage and fiction.
