Sex and the City
The series "Sex and the City" tells about the lives of four friends from New York. The main character, Carrie Bradshaw— works as a journalist and writes novels, inspired by her own romantic adventures and the adventures of her friends: the sexually positive Samantha, the emancipated Miranda and the feminine dreamer Charlotte.
Sometimes life confronts Carrie with Mr. Big, the "man of dreams." They meet and break up again. The series ends with the couple deciding to be together after all. Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte also find happiness in a relationship. And, it would seem, this is a happy ending, but not everyone liked this outcome. Including screenwriter Darren Star. The series is based on the novel of the same name Stephen King. It tells the story of the small American town of Chester's Mill. One day, its inhabitants discover that they are separated from the rest of the world by a transparent barrier. It cannot be destroyed by lasers, explosives, or acid.
Panic is growing. People are left without electricity, food and medicine, and then face a strange epidemic altogether.

I would leave only one season, and that is strictly according to the book: in the finale, most of the inhabitants die, and those who survive rethink their lives. Now King's whole message is down the drain.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
This is a continuation of the story about cyborgs from a post-apocalyptic future who do not want to allow humanity to win the war between machines and humans. After a failed attempt to destroy Sarah Connor, they create a new terminator — an improved version of the T‑1000 — and send it back to the past. The goal has changed: now you need to kill John Connor, the son of the main character.
It would seem that there is no chance, but a reprogrammed terminator of the previous generation, the T—800, comes to the guy's aid. He gets into a fight with his alter ego, the T‑1000, and wins. However, in the name of humanity's survival, it also has to self-destruct.
The director's version has a two-minute scene that was not released. There we see the year 2029, in which Judgment Day does not come and the elderly Sarah Connor enjoys peaceful time watching her granddaughter playing on the playground.
Some viewers, including the director of Lifehacker Alexei Ponomar, like this outcome of events — the subsequent films of the franchise seem to be worse in quality.
It was worth leaving the ending of the extended version with the old Sarah Connor. And no more sequels!
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Aliens arrive on Earth with a special mission: save the planet from humans. The main character, Klaatu (Keanu Reeves), informs the US Secretary of Defense that they have one last chance to improve: end wars and stop violence.
However, people are unfriendly to the aliens. They capture the biorobot Gort. But it suddenly disintegrates into millions of nano‑insects, which turn everything in their path to dust. Only Klaatu, imbued with compassion for humanity, can stop them. He deactivates insects, and with them all the power plants on Earth in the hope that this will be a lesson for people.
The film received a lot of bad reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, for example, only 20% Day The Earth Stood Still / Rotten Tomatoes the reviews were positive. In the remaining 80%, they noted the poor performance of the actors, the presence of cliches typical of fantasy films, and the unrealistic motives of the main characters. And some people, including our reader, generally wanted the ending of the film to be more cruel towards people.
It would be better if Keanu Reeves' hero fulfilled his mission: saved the planet and destroyed humanity.
