TextExpander is one of my most favorite programs for Mac. Saves time when typing frequently used phrases — names, company names, greetings and signatures in electronic correspondence, etc., etc. The principle of operation is simple — you specify the full spelling of a word or phrase, and also give an abbreviated version. Now, when you enter this abbreviated version somewhere, TextExpander will automatically replace it with the full one.
TextExpander's capabilities are not limited to entering plain text — you can insert already formatted text and even drawings. You can determine the cursor position after insertion, specify the date and time, etc. The program itself weighs extremely little, consumes almost no memory. In general, beauty.
The range of applications of TextExpander can be very wide. For example, I use a program to quickly enter HTML tags. One of the ways of application: typing «h2.» (without quotes), I get the construction <h2>/h2>. Moreover, the cursor is already located between the tags. Even more interesting is the example with the insertion of a quote. I copy the phrase to the clipboard, type on the keyboard «bq.» (again without quotes) and get: <blockquote>the phrase will be here</blockquote>. Many people use TextExpander to automatically correct their most common errors and descriptions.
Well, now a fly in the ointment. TextExpander is a paid program and after a 30-day test period you will have to pay for its use. I myself use a very old version, which is called TextPander. Then it was still free. Unlike TextExpander, TextPander also has a smaller size. So if you are not ready to pay yet, here is a link to the old version: http://www.box.net/shared/7euet5rtad. I want to emphasize that this is not a varez, not hacked, not cracked, etc., but just an old version of the program when it was still free.
