It seems that Valve seriously intends to conquer the living rooms with the help of Steam Machines consoles. The company has developed its own SteamOS operating system, as well as an innovative controller that will take user interaction with the game to a new level. Steam Controller is a device that combines the comfort of a gamepad and the speed of mouse movements. With this compact gadget, you can easily control any games, even those that were sharpened exclusively for the keyboard and mouse.
In order not to feed users with empty promises, the company published a video in which the capabilities of the gamepad are demonstrated. The video shows the manipulator's work in games such as Portal 2, Civilization 5, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, as well as in the indie project Papers, Please. It is worth noting that Steam Controller copes with its task perfectly, confidently managing both a slow strategy and a fast shooter. Valve promises to show a few more videos in the near future that will introduce us more closely to the work of Steam Controller. I note that this is only a prototype of the device, and the final version may undergo some design changes.
