In Japan, they announced Meet The 2023 Tokyo International Foto Award Winners winners of the Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA) 2023 photo contest. The jury sorted thousands of applications, selecting the 20 best shots, and also determined the photographer of the year.
All the pictures demonstrate the beauty of our planet and show breathtaking moments of wildlife.
"Photographer of the Year"
The main award was taken by Francis Leroy, who captured hundreds of moments on sandy beaches using aerial photography.

1. "The perfect cloud". This is a giant lenticular cloud that is illuminated by the well of Villarrica, the most dangerous and active volcano in Chile.
2. «Fulmini E Saette». This photo captures the power of nature.
3. "Bubbles". The photographer managed to take an extremely rare shot, which, according to him, surprised even many scientists and biologists. Few people have ever seen a turtle blowing bubbles underwater.
4. "The call of the night sky". The author spent two years scouting and waiting for the right moment to take this shot.
5. "Angel tree" in Japan.
6. "Pond of a thousand lights". This impressive shot was taken in southeastern Georgia, USA, when the water breathed life into the cypresses, and autumn met winter and sunlight filled the park with an unusual shade.
7. "24 hours of Tikki". This is fabulous Lapland in Finland.
8. "Sleep time". The mother bear came out of the den with her babies and made a rest on a snow-white blanket.
9. "Ghost Forest". This is a temporary pond in Japan, which is often formed in this place as a result of snowmelt. As a result, the forest is submerged in water for a while.
10. "Beautiful golden sunset on the lake". And this poplar was taken hostage at Lake Yedang (South Korea).
11. "Winter Rocky Mountains" in Canada.
12. "A glass of ice wine". "The art of ice, created by nature, appeared on the shores of a very cold lake," the author describes his work.
13. "Sunset Lions". Predators are waiting for the sunset to open the hunt.
14. "Divergence". This shot was taken using a drone. On it, the author captured the shoals, which were exposed by the ebb tide.
15. "Flight of sardines". The images created by the schools of fish change every second. Sometimes they line up in a wall that looks like a starry sky, as in this photo.
16. "Loving lions". Two young predators are caressing their cub.
17. "Keeper of Magic". A curious lemur was photographed in the heart of the Madagascar forest.
18. "Moonwalk". This is a procession of magnificent king penguins in Antarctica.
19. "Eternal dolphins". They were captured near the island of Mikura, which is located 190 kilometers south of Tokyo (Japan).
20. "Mimicry". The deciduous sea dragon (Phycodurus eques), which is listed as an endangered species.
