Asus introduced ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova / Asus The new ROG Cetra SpeedNova TWS headphones are an updated version of the ROG Cetra True Wireless with the same design and improved stuffing. Like all accessories of the ROG series, the novelty is aimed at gamers (the name of the line literally stands for Republic of Gamers). The manufacturer notes that this is a great way to dive even deeper into your favorite game.
The headphones support Bluetooth connection and SpeedNova connection (operates at 2.4GHz and is designed to optimize the connection to eliminate delays). In the second case, you will need to insert a signal transmitter into your smartphone, computer or console — it is on USB-C. You can connect one audio source at a time: one via Bluetooth and one via 2.4GHz.
The 2.4GHz connection allows you to play audio in high resolution — with the LC3+ codec. Adaptive noise reduction (ANC) technology is supported. Bone conduction microphones have been added to improve voice recording: Asus claims that they are able to record voice cleaner and better than conventional ones.
There is an RGB backlight on the case and the headphones themselves - it can be synchronized via the Asus Aura system or configured independently of other gaming accessories. The housing is protected from splashes according to the IPX4 standard.
The most important improvement over the previous generation is battery life. In Bluetooth mode without noise cancellation and backlight, the headphones will work for up to 11.5 hours — or 7.5 hours with noise cancellation and backlight. Taking into account the recharge from the case, the total autonomy reaches 46 hours. Five minutes of recharging should be enough for an additional hour of work.
Asus ROG Cetra SpeedNova will go on sale by the end of March. The cost of the headphones has not yet been disclosed, the original ROG Cetra True Wireless cost $99 (≈8,800 rubles) at the start.
