The University tested how quickly people perform "basic" operations (editing documents, copying numbers between tables, etc.) using monitors of different sizes. It turned out that users perform work 52 percent faster if they have a 24-inch monitor, rather than an 18-inch one. Working with a 20-inch monitor is 44 percent more efficient than working with 18 inches again. Under certain conditions, using a larger monitor can save 2.5 hours daily.
There is also an opinion that an increase in the number of monitors can increase labor efficiency. Programmers often work behind two or even three monitors (documentation on one display, code on the other), designers. Joel Spolsky believes that two monitors will make writing code much easier.
An active supporter of "multi-monitor" work is Jeff Atwood, the author of the very popular Coding Horror blog dedicated to programming. Jeff's argument is very simple — working with multiple monitors allows you to concentrate directly on your duties, without wasting time on changing the size of windows, their location, folding and unfolding.

And what do you think? Is your work more efficient behind a large monitor (or several)?
