Laurence Fishburne has joined the family of the "Witcher", Netflix announced on its Facebook page (former Twitter). In the fourth season of the series, the actor will play the role of the ancient vampire Emiel Regis.
The Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee is known for his roles in such cult action films as The Matrix, John Wick and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This year he will also appear in the blockbuster Transformers One.
In the sequel to The Witcher based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, he will play one of the key roles. His character is a high vampire, a barber, a surgeon, a philosopher and a close friend of Geralt from Rivia. The hero's debut took place in the novel "Baptism of Fire", published in 1996.
In addition to 62-year-old Fishburne, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan joined the cast of the series. Previously, joined the cast Liam Hemsworth, who will play the main role instead of Henry Cavill.
Filming of the fourth season of "The Witcher" should begin in March or April of this year.
