A recent Google report says that already in August of this year, "Disk" (Drive) will no longer support Windows 8, Windows 8.1, as well as the 32-bit version of Windows 10. The update of the document was noticed in Android Police.

We are talking about a separate PC application that allows you to synchronize your data with the cloud and make backups of photos and videos in Google Photos. Since August, PC users with the listed OS versions will not be able to do this. They will have to use the web version of the "Disk" in the browser - if it works correctly on the old system.

The refusal to support "dead" versions of Windows is not news for Google, which began the path of phasing out support since Chrome in February. Other companies are taking similar steps: Mozilla is also stopping support for Firefox for Windows 7 and 8.
