Next year, the Firefox browser will stop updating on computers with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, as well as with macOS 10.12, 10.13 and 10.14. Mozilla announced this in its support blog.
The developers explained that in January Microsoft stopped support for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, so further use of these operating systems can be dangerous. The situation is similar with older versions of macOS that no longer receive Apple updates.
Thus, the latest supported browser version for these operating systems will be Firefox 115. It should be released in early July 2023. However, from September 2024, it will also stop being updated. Therefore, the company recommends that users switch to the current Microsoft and Apple systems.
