To draw attention to the expedition, the agency came up with an unusual action — any earthling can send his name to the moon of the gas giant. NASA promises to sign them a small work "For the Glory of Mystery: a Poem for Europe", which will fly away with the probe.
The names of the participants will be engraved on a special microchip along with the text of the work and installed on the Europa Clipper case. Applications for participation are accepted until December 31, 2023.
The launch of the Europa Clipper automatic interplanetary station is scheduled for October 10, 2024. The probe will study ice-covered Europe for several years, will make 45 satellite flyby. Scientists believe that liquid water is hiding under its frozen shield and it may be habitable.
