Chinese insiders shared new details about Apple's flagship smartphones planned for next year. According to them, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will receive a larger display, which will expand the internal space to accommodate a pumped camera and a larger battery capacity.
The camera will be improved on two fronts at once. Firstly, the main sensor will increase to a size of 1/1.14 inches — against 1/1.28 inches for the current iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. And secondly, the smartphone will receive a periscope module for higher-quality optical zoom without loss.
Sources add that the periscope will appear this year, but only in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Starting next year, it will become a distinctive feature of both Pro versions.
Earlier, Mark Gurman confirmed an increase in the displays of the flagship iPhone 16 from 6.1 and 6.7 inches by "a couple of tenths of an inch diagonally." It is assumed that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have screens of 6.3 and 6.9 inches, respectively. The basic versions will remain the same.
Also recently, information appeared on the Network that the iPhone 16 Pro Max, being the largest Apple smartphone, will change its name to the iPhone 16 Ultra. This change will make it possible to present the device as something completely new and probably even more expensive.
