Google has been offering a good set of free software to users for quite some time. The search giant itself claims that everything is meticulously selected by Google, is always free (no spyware utilities and trial versions) and is installed in a few mouse clicks.
The package includes:
Google Earth (the localized version is called «Google Earth») — allows you to organize «virtual tours around the world »).
Google Desktop is a search utility for the user's computer.
Picasa is a program for storing photos. Allows you to create password-protected collections, assign a rating to individual photos, etc.
Toolbars for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox
Google Photos Screensaver is a screensaver that shows photos from your computer and popular photo hosting sites.
Google Talk is an Internet pager that allows, among other things, to communicate by voice with interlocutors, as well as send voice mail and transfer files.
Adobe Reader is a client for working with PDF files
Mozilla Firefox (of course with the Google toolbar)
Norton Security Scan is a limited version of Norton Security Scan. It can scan files and search for viruses and worms, warns about the presence of spyware utilities and unwanted adware programs in the system
Spyware Doctor — fighting against spies, the free version has a number of serious limitations
RealPlayer — audio and video file player
Skype — calls all over the world with great savings (and if from computer to computer, it's generally free).
Depending on the OS, the list may change. By the way, Microsoft offers more than 150 programs for free!
