The new feature will appeal to users who have opened dozens of pages with free Wi-Fi and endured smartphone freezes just to save mobile traffic. The stable build of Google Chrome for Android (55.0.2883.84) saves bookmarks for offline review in one touch.

So, after the update, a button will be added to the browser menu to load the current page into memory, as well as a new item "Downloaded files". Click on the icon, after which a loading indicator will appear on the notification bar. A tick will let you know about the successful saving. It will also stand next to the link if you open the site without the Internet.

Uploaded bookmarks are grouped by creation date. The total amount of files is indicated opposite each of them. Over time, it can become excessively large, so the developers have provided the ability to batch delete saved pages.

Also in the latest Chrome for Android, memory consumption has been optimized and the highlighting of spelling errors in text fields has been improved.

The 55th version of Chrome for Android is already distributed worldwide through the Google Play catalog. If you haven't received the update yet, you can download the installation file here.
