According to the sensational biography of Steve Jobs, it was decided to shoot a feature film, and the author of the script invited Aaron Sorkin to the project. He is already known to the public for the successful adaptation of a work about the creation of the Facebook network* called "Social Network".
In the Hero Summit program, held with the support of Newsweek and the Daily Beast, Sorkin gave an interview to the editor of the publications and the host of the project Tina Brown. The screenwriter has opened the veil of secrecy over what the film about Steve Jobs will be. His plans are not to shoot a clearly painted biography of Jobs, but to use a more original plot and, perhaps, reveal the identity of the head of Apple in a new light.
It is planned that the film will consist of three parts. In each half–hour excerpt, it was decided to reflect a period from Jobs' working life before the launch of one of three new products - the first Mac, the NeXT computer and the iPod player. Sorkin himself is looking for antagonism in his characters and likes to show the viewer a person in action, and not just who the hero is in life. He imagines the film about Steve as a picture, not as a photograph reflecting episodes of his life. In addition, Sorkin made a reservation that the head of Apple is interesting to him as a protagonist – with his own shortcomings. After all, if Jobs were perfect, it would simply be uninteresting to shoot about him.
Moreover, Sorkin personally communicated with Jobs during his lifetime. Steve sometimes called the screenwriter to share some thoughts or impressions, and once even offered him to shoot a movie with Pixar, but then Sorkin was forced to refuse.
Working on a script for a film based on the biography of Jobs by Walter Isaacson Sorkin has been working since May under a contract with Sony Pictures Entertainment. It was then that the studio received the rights to the film adaptation of the book. We should expect an interesting product from the screenwriter, because he received an Oscar for the screenplay of the "Social Network". Among his other famous works are "A Few Good Guys" (A Few Good Men), "The American President" (The American President) and the TV series "The West Wing" (The West Wing). There is also "Sports Night", "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), "Charlie Wilson's War" (Charlie Wilson's War) and, of course, "The Man who Changed Everything" (Moneyball).
