Last time I talked about how you can find pen pals and exchange postcards. Today we will talk about how to find real friends, not postal ones. Moreover, today's article will be indirectly linked to my series of articles about the study of a foreign language. And really, if you want to learn English quickly — start communicating in it!
Interpals.net — this is one of the most popular networks among people who want to find acquaintances in other countries. Hundreds of thousands of people in dozens of countries, eager to communicate — what else is needed in order to have a great conversation and learn a language (and not only English).
To begin with, you just need to register for the service and fill out a questionnaire about yourself. — these procedures are as commonplace for a modern person as, for example, brushing teeth. In the questionnaire, you need to write in as much detail as possible about yourself and about what friends and what you are looking for (joint travel, simple communication, correspondence, even flirting and other romance). You can (and should) attach photos to your profile. The questionnaire also indicates the level of proficiency in various languages.
After everything is filled, it's time to look for new friends. Interpals has several types of search — simple (by age, gender and other parameters), search for a friend to learn a language (you teach, for example, an American Russian, and he teaches you English), there is also a search for random interlocutors. All searches are very flexible.
Communication takes place in private messages or on the wall — just choose the person you like and write to him that you want to chat. Choose words — simple «Hi, how a u?» as a rule, no one is touched. It is better to write in simple words who you are and what you need. Keep in mind that users in Interpals do not always respond instantly, so write more messages to different people.
Don't be afraid and don't be shy about your English, you have come to learn it. Actively offer your services in learning your native language (it's strange, but there is a great demand for virtual Russian teachers among Americans). Be polite and relaxed — and everything will be OK!
