Most of the people around you, including me, are used to living and working in a comfortable zone for themselves. Moreover, many consider this comfort almost happiness. But if for some reason you wanted to achieve something, you urgently need to knock yourself out of this zone. How? Let's read Paul Sloan's note.
In fact, everything is not as scary as it seems, often a trifle is enough to make you want to do something new, move forward:
- Learn to dance (Salsa or tango – what's the difference?)
- Get into a new sport
- Choose a new route each time on the way to work and back
- Learn to knit (by the way, I can crochet)
- Find and read the magazine you are interested in from those that you have never read
- Feel free to sing in the karaoke bar
- Go to an art exhibition
- Learn how to make bouquets
- Learn a foreign language
- Join a theater circle and be sure to participate in plays
- Help in any charitable institution
- Look for new meetings, don't be afraid to talk to people and listen to them more carefully
If you shift it all to your business, it turns out that we are hiding behind old installations like:
- Don't show off and do the usual
- Rest on your strengths
- Don't try to become a Renaissance man
All these are excuses, justifications for their unwillingness to leave the comfort of corporate foundations. Many companies, including Nokia, for example, were doing something completely different at the very beginning, but they were not afraid to experiment. And although there is no doubt that not all experiments will be successful – this can lead a small business into a big swim.
