This Open Source Linspire project to create a visual (WYSIWYG) HTML editor approaches in functionality and convenience to such monsters of the site building as FrontPage and Dreamweaver. The basis for creating an NVU is the Mozilla Composer code with all the possibilities that follow from this: support for extensions, change of themes, correct and clean output code that meets modern standards.
Among the functions there are very convenient, for example, a site manager that allows you to edit pages on a remote server, a built-in CSS editor with a preview of styles, color syntax highlighting in code editing mode, spell checking and much more. Using it is not just convenient, but very convenient. Pages open in tabs, between which you can drag pieces of code, excellent page layout, preview, template support — all this makes working with the program convenient and understandable even for beginners. The program feels great in all Windows, Linux and Mac OS. It works from a flash drive without administrative rights, I use it myself. There is a Russian-speaking community to support the development of the program.
