The MagicAnimate neural network allows you to animate any photo or picture

The MagicAnimate neural network, which can create animations based on a selected image, has been made publicly available. She is gaining popularity due to her realistic work with people: facial expressions and movements turn out to be frighteningly believable. With it, you can get Gioconda to do yoga or try on popular dance moves from social networks without getting out of bed.

Everything works as simply as possible: just upload a photo of the model and a video reference of the movement and wait a couple of minutes. The neural network does not check images or videos for copyrights and is capable of animating several people at the same time.

The picture is automatically stretched, but only in the interface: everything is generated with the correct proportions. Screenshot: Lifehacker

This project is a joint development of the National University of Singapore and ByteDance (TikTok's parent company). Anyone can try out the neural network: the demo is available on the site Hugging Face. At the time of publication, the server load is high, the editor regularly resets progress and issues an error. Since there is no paid option in MagicAnimate, it remains only to try again and hope that you will still get a turn. The project also has a page on GitHub.
