It is not for me to explain how important the sound background is for fruitful activity and for recreation. Loud music in the office, the noise of fans on tables and in system units, just human hubbub — all this can cause discomfort, and with prolonged exposure and neuroses. To set myself up for a relaxed atmosphere, I use Aura, a program that fills my workspace with soothing sounds of nature.
The program reproduces the sounds of the forest, and they can change depending on the time of day: a mysterious night forest with hooting owls, chirping cicadas, wind noise, and a daytime forest filled with birds, bumblebees, rustling grass. Occasionally thunder is heard and it rains in my world, gusts of wind bend the grass, carry foliage. I can diversify all this by playing the flute, violin, as if a small orchestra is playing music in nature. Such soothing sounds favorably distinguish my office, creating a unique atmosphere of harmony, unity with nature. There is a whole set of sound effects for the program that you can control yourself.
There is also an alarm clock, the time of changing the day and night mode, the start and shutdown time, various volume controls, auto-detection of the sound card. Aura works fine from a USB stick in Windows XP and Vista. I advise everyone, if not to use, then at least try this free program of a Russian developer.
