When you set yourself goals for a month or a year, what do you rely on? And if you want to do something in your life, how do you determine that there is "little", "enough" and "a lot"? Such issues are usually solved by searching for an idol to follow or just a person who, in your opinion, is worthy of becoming your standard. It seems that I, who am usually not used to having faith in either idols or higher powers, have a standard to follow.
