I've been playing with toys a lot lately. So, after a bunch of trash, I present a worthy candidate for leisure activities: Turret Wars.
To tell the truth, I lied a little here, because there are actually two games: single-player Turret Wars Retro and multiplayer Turret Wars MP. The idea of the game is as old as the world: there is a set of fixed turrets with rotating barrels capable of firing projectiles flying along a ballistic trajectory. The task is to kill all the enemies and not to perish yourself. Familiar? I'm sure many people have played something similar on televisions with "black and green" screens.
Here's the trick. Depending on which turret was selected, you get one or another bonus: armor, the ability to detonate a projectile in the air, etc. In addition, bonuses like "first aid kits" or "nuks" are scattered around the map, which can significantly change the course of the battle.
The map is three—dimensional, the overview is "from the first person", plus the "projectile pilot" mode, which is automatically turned on when shooting and serves as the only true guide when shooting. We shoot, adjust the height, the angle of rotation and the initial speed. If you don't get it, we try again. The enemy does the same. On the tactical map, you can assess the situation, and health indicators allow you to vividly estimate which of the participants will go to the forefathers in the first place.
With that said, we get that it will not work to kill the enemies, and the random number generator does its bit: an uneven hour will place everyone present on the top of the mountain right in the line of fire, or shove them away into a hole, from which only a skilled player can knock out.
Bad news: everything and everything has been cut in the demo version, i.e. it will not work out to try the whole arsenal in any way: you will have to pay, and this is $ 10-30, depending on the version. If you don't really feel sorry for the money, take a closer look at the familty license, it has much fewer restrictions, and it applies to both the win and mac versions.
P.S.: the screenshot is taken from the site, there is no such level in the demo :(
