Today I received a newsletter from the organizing committee of my race in Pescara that the cycling route has been changed, and also with a reminder that there is only nothing left before the start — two months. To be honest, it scared me a little, because with these Thai moves, a week of idleness in Bangkok, the Kiev impenetrable winter, it turned out to be somehow very strange to train. Naturally, we are not talking about any system here. Everything was bad. But, I still did something and reaped the fruits of my labor all these Thai months.
At the end of Thailand, I can state that I have developed my heart and overall endurance quite well. And what did you think — to run in the heat of 35C in almost 100% humidity. I was sweating, puffing, and in Kiev I enjoyed the change of climate. For example, when running with a pace of 4:30, I can talk on the phone almost without shortness of breath after 6 km, and when running 10 km there is no shortness of breath at all. Well, that is, absolutely — you just finish your workout and go home quietly a little sweaty :) It's the best reason for me to do all this, honestly.
I am also extremely glad that I have almost completed the task of my coach — to lose weight to 68 kg. When I started running, my weight was 87 kg, with a height of 176 cm, when I was harnessed to a triathlon — 76 kg. Today my weight is 70 kg and I know how to lower it without harming my health by another 2-3 kilograms.

In Kiev, I immediately signed up for a local gym, as it was just very dangerous to run through the streets — there was a lot of crooked ice. I only had enough time to run on the track twice. I always thought that such a run is some kind of cheating :) You can just move your legs, and everything "runs" by itself. Yes, and blundering into the TV is so far from the philosophy of running close to me. So now I'm running outside again.
By the way, in the last post I wrote that my leg hurt because of too busy schedule, which I prescribed myself with daily running on the slides. It was a mild form of the disease, which is called inflammation of the periosteum. A very nasty infection that takes a very long time. The fact that I got rid of her in just a month and a half is a great success. Thanks to Kaiotic — my bike — he helped me out all this time.
By the way, I continue my almost vegan diet with rare breakdowns at a party :) It's very hard to explain every time to everyone around why I don't want to eat cheese or meat. Well, it's not scary, the main thing is that the results are achieved, running is running. If you're interested, this is what one day's food looks like — plant-based, low-calorie food.
In the morning, nuts and dried cherries with coffee without sugar and milk.
Afternoon snack with wholegrain bread, tea and a little honey.
In the evening: soy cheese with herbs, miso soup with mushrooms and dense algae, sesame seeds and very strong chili pepper. And, of course, tea from a tea rose bought in the Chinatown of fabulous Bangkok.
A wonderful set of everything you need for training.
On a wave of euphoria from the ability to run that has returned to me, I registered for the Kiev marathon — 42+ km in Kiev spring! What could be better. By the way, this will be my first marathon in my life. It was 21, it was 30, but there was no 42. But there was no such crowd of people around. So I think that everything will work out! Join us. The cost of participation is only $25. There are smaller distances there.
As for swimming, I'm not doing it at all yet — as soon as I remember the smell of the pool, it already twitches, but I'll go next week. We must begin!
For obvious reasons, I don't ride a bike in Kiev. It's not too pleasant to think about it — cars, garbage on the roads, pits, drivers are fools and it's just still cold. Today I'll take the machine again and start a static bike ride. In order to somehow measure workouts, I purchased a cadence sensor and installed it to count the rotation of the pedals. Now you only need to keep the time and the friction load, which should grow. Thus, I will increase my own power. In theory :)
Well, and a little cheerful motivational video :)
By the way, in parallel with the preparation for IRONMAN, I started writing the book "Doubt", which I have to finish under an agreement with the publisher a week after the race in Italy. There I plan to write a lot about my sports observations and, of course, about triathlon, which has possessed my consciousness for half a year now and does not let me go to any!
