–Shaving becomes a part of the life of any man, and often women, as soon as they become old enough to have something to shave. Not because of chauvinism, but solely because of a close acquaintance with the topic, I will write about the traditional shaving of the face for men.
So, I will start by listing fairly standard, and therefore well-known tips, some of which I will comment on.
- Before shaving, it is better to wash with warm or very warm water. This softens the bristles and opens the pores.
We all remember the hot towels from the barbershops of old movies. The recipe is classic, time-tested. However, modern modifications are still possible — shave right under the shower, after you have finished the rest of the hygiene procedures. The skin is warmed up, the pores are open — ideal conditions.
- Some sources recommend giving your face a massage with a scrub before shaving. Women know exactly the meaning of this word, and for men I note that it is a paste-like sandpaper. Clean up and open your pores.
The scrub is not only for metrosexuals, it is useful to clean the face, although shaving itself works as a scrub, because it seems to me that the fact of massage is more important.
- Lubrication is useful for any system struggling with sliding friction. Use a foam or gel, and after applying it, wait for a while before starting.
I myself prefer gel — more economical and glides better, but this is — subjective.
- Use only a sharp razor. An insufficiently sharp razor will lead to irritation and cuts.
Yes, paradoxically it is easier to cut yourself with a blunt razor, because it is unlikely to be so blunt as not to destroy the skin, and you will have to press the blunt razor harder.
- If you are particularly neglected, divide shaving into two steps: the first time, walk with light taps, removing what is easy to shave, the second time, shave carefully, as recommended in this article.
- You should shave only in the direction of hair growth.
Yes, strange as it may seem, but the apparent effectiveness of oncoming traffic can lead to ingrown hairs, and this is painful. Follow the direction of growth.
- Be sure to calm your face by washing with cool water after shaving. Use a soothing lotion with bactericidal properties, but not alcohol-based.
Some people also like to wash off the foam and bristles from the razor with cool or cold water, this should also reduce irritation, however, most sources recommend washing the razor in warm or even hot water.
And most importantly:
- Take your time ;)
Short and slow movements together with frequent rinsing of the razor will help you achieve the best possible results.
I hope these tips will help you look a little better, which will undoubtedly benefit your business.
