Last year, Microsoft announced that support for the outdated version of the Edge browser (Edge Legacy) on the EdgeHTML engine will cease on March 9, 2021. The company has not retreated from its plans — from now on there will be no security updates for it.
The official blog says that the outdated version of Microsoft Edge will be removed from the system automatically with the release of the April update of Windows 10. The new Edge on the Chromium engine will be installed forcibly if it is not already present on the PC. User consent is not required for this.
