Why Australia? I love this country very much and have considered it my home for a long time. I love Australia for its sense of social security, security, low crime rate, beautiful nature, climate and cleanliness, boundless expanses, for a large number of sunny days a year.

Australia is constantly leading the world rankings in terms of convenience for living and doing business. Cities in Australia constantly fall into the top 10 of the rating of the most comfortable cities to live in, and the capital of Victoria - Melbourne — has been named the world's best city to live in 5 times in a row over the past 5 years.

Today I want to tell you about the three most relevant ways of immigration to Australia for permanent residence with further citizenship.

Professional immigration

It remains the most accessible and popular type of immigration for potential immigrants from the CIS countries. For professional immigration to Australia, first of all, you need good English — you need to take an English exam. In addition to IELTS, other exams are now also accepted: TOEFL iBT, Pearson Test of English, Cambridge English.

Professional immigration requires a result:

  • IELTS — at least 6 for each of the components;
  • PTE — at least 50 for each of the components;
  • Cambridge English — at least 169 for each of the components;
  • TOEFL iBT — 12 in listening, 13 in reading, 21 in writing and 18 in speaking.

For medical specialties, accountants, architects, teachers and social workers, a higher result in English is required (for example, IELTS 7 Academic for each of the components). You will also need education and work experience. For some specialties, immigration without work experience is possible.

There are lists of popular specialties that change regularly. There are a lot of specialties, so you can choose the right one for almost any candidate. Next, you need to score 60 points. The points are calculated taking into account age, education, work experience, and knowledge of English. The system is designed in such a way that preference is given to candidates from 25 to 40 years old with a good English and higher education. For example:

  • age from 25 to 32 years — 30 points;
  • IELTS 6 — 0 points (points are awarded for the result of IELTS 7 for each of the components and above);
  • 8 years of work experience in the specialty — 15 points;
  • higher education — 15 points.

Total: 60 points.

If you meet all of the above requirements, you can act as the main applicant for one of the professional visas and include your husband or wife, as well as dependent children in your application. The whole family will receive permanent visas for a period of 5 years. After 4 years, you will all be able to obtain citizenship and passports of Australia, provided that you will live in the country for these 4 years.

Business Immigration

There are quite a lot of immigration opportunities for businessmen. This is due to the fact that the Australian government promotes the development of business investments, innovative projects and entrepreneurship.

Firstly, there are a number of business visas for successful businessmen who already have experience in doing business abroad, personal savings and property in the amount of 800,000 Australian dollars, and business turnover should be 500,000 Australian dollars per year. Immigration will require the idea of an innovative business that you want to open in Australia. This idea must be approved by the government of one of the states. In addition, there are visas for investors who are willing to invest in the development of projects approved by the government in the amount of $ 1.5 million.

Secondly, there is a budget immigration scheme for entrepreneurs through the opening of a new or purchase of an existing business (or stake) in Australia, which will not require significant assets and investments.

In general , the immigration process under the entrepreneurial scheme will consist of the following stages:

1. Analysis of your work experience, qualifications, knowledge and preferences in the field of business.

2. Analysis of the local Australian market, determining the direction of business and its compliance with immigration requirements.

3. Develop a business model with a candidate and prepare a detailed business plan or search for existing business projects or businesses for sale that meet the experience, wishes of the client and immigration requirements of the department.

4. For a new business, assistance is provided with full registration, obtaining licenses, finding the required premises and equipment, recruiting staff and a local business partner.

5. For an existing business, assistance is provided in organizing the purchase of an enterprise, including a full audit and verification of the existing business, as well as paperwork for the purchase.

6. Registration of a temporary work visa (subclass 457) for you and your family members.

7. You come and start working in Australia in accordance with a previously developed business plan.

8. After 2 years of working in business, you and your family members receive a permanent visa (subclass 186/187). After another 2 years, you can get Australian citizenship and passports.

Immigration through study

For young people who want to immigrate to Australia, immigration through study is suitable. In fact, this is a kind of professional immigration.

First, a student receives an education in Australia in one of the specialties suitable for immigration. Upon graduation, he receives a temporary graduate work visa, and then a permanent visa.

For immigration through study, it is important to have a well-thought-out plan of action in advance and choose the right specialty. Suitable specialties that do not require several years of work experience to confirm them. For example, the specialties of an architect, teacher, accountant, engineering and some medical specialties do not require mandatory work experience for immigration. There are also some specialties that require work experience, but it is easy to find a job or employment is provided by an educational institution. For example, an IT specialty or a cook.

After completing the course, you can apply for a graduate visa, which is essentially a work visa for a period of 1.5 to 3 years. The duration of the graduate visa depends on the course: after college — 1.5 years, after bachelor's degree — 2 years, after master's degree — 3 years, after doctoral studies — 4 years. During this time, you apply for one of the permanent visas from Australia and are waiting for a visa in Australia too.
