At the CES 2024 tech exhibition, in addition to all kinds of gadgets, was presented What we announced at CES 2024 / Google The Keyword and the updated Quick Share file sharing system, an analog of AirDrop for the Android and Windows ecosystems. This is a joint development between Google and Samsung, which previously had separate systems. Quick Share was originally called the version for Galaxy devices, whereas Nearby Share was used on Google and other manufacturers' gadgets. Now they are being combined into a single system that will get the best from both predecessors.

In addition to the ability to share files with Android and Chrome devices, the new Quick Share will also work with Windows computers. Google is now coordinating with LG and other "leading PC manufacturers" to have their devices shipped with the pre-installed Quick Share program.

To send a file, just click on the Quick Share icon and select the desired recipient from the list. At the same time, the user chooses who will see his device and will be able to share files with him: everything, only contacts or only gadgets with his Google account.

Quick Share will be available on all devices that support Nearby Share. The update with the name change starts in February.
