Very often in our digital life there is a situation when we need to send some data from the browser to the mobile phone. It can be a picture that you want to use as wallpaper on your phone, a link to an interesting mobile application, the phone of the right person or company. In the end, you just may not have time to finish reading an interesting article from a Life Hacker and finish it from your mobile on the way home. In all these cases, you will need a convenient means of forwarding links, files and texts from your browser to your mobile, which we will tell you about now.
To send information to Android phones, we will use a special extension for the Chrome browser called Chrome to Phone. According to the developer, “this extension adds a button to Chrome with which you can instantly send links, maps, highlighted text and phone numbers directly to your Android device. You can also right-click on a link or text selected on a web page and send them to your Android device.” The work of the extension requires the installation of a special application in the phone, which you can find here.
A small video perfectly illustrates the work of this bundle.
Well, all users of the Firefox browser can use the extension FoxToPhone, which is based on ChromeToPhone and has similar functions.
Nokia recently introduced a similar product. Nokia Drop is still under development, so it is available for download only from the Nokia Beta Labs website. First you need to install a small program on your phone and a special extension for your browser. Both Google Chrome and Firefox are supported, but you will need a Nokia OVI account to download.
With Nokia Drop, you can send pictures and links from the browser to your phone with one click and even change the desktop wallpaper there. The video will tell you more about this.
Currently Nokia Drop works with models X6-00, 5228, 5230, 5235 Ovi Music Unlimited, 5530 Exp Music, C6-00, N97, N97 mini, N8-00, C6-01, C7-00, E7-00, 5233, c5-03, 5800 (PR4+).
