To work with the Google Calendar online calendar, you can use both the calendar interface itself and transfer it to Microsoft Outlook, as we wrote a little earlier. However, if you decide to move from Outlook to the online calendar from Google, then you are waiting for some unpleasant "rake". The fact is that at the moment, the transfer of all your calendar data from Outlook works fine by exporting to a CSV file, but it will not be able to transfer recurring events, as well as the birthdays of your contacts that you have entered into their cards.
Our reader, Roman Isaev, sent a simple script of which he himself is the author. The script allows you to "pull out" the birthdays of your contacts in a separate ICS file and import them into Google Calendar.
Download the script and run it from your local computer.
After the script is running, the file "contactsBirthday.ics" will be created in the root of the disk With:.
Next, go to Google Calendar and there, after downloading the interface part, click on "Add" above the list of your calendars and select "Import Calendar" from the drop-down menu.
…and specify the location of the file generated by the script.
So in the calendar you have chosen, the annually recurring birthdays of your contacts from Microsoft Outlook will be saved. Here is an example of what such an event will look like in your calendar:
Many thanks to Roman, and we also remind you that Lifehacker.ru he will be happy to receive advice from you on how to make life and work on the computer more pleasant and easier.
