1. Sheregesh

  • How to get: from Novosibirsk, Kemerovo or Novokuznetsk by bus to Tashgatol with a transfer to Sheregesh.
  • When it is better to go: from mid-November to the end of May.
  • How many runs: 15.

Sheregesh is the largest ski resort in Siberia. Every year he takes Ski resort "Sheregesh". Information about the resort over a million tourists. It is very comfortable to conquer the slopes on skis or a board, because the slopes are covered with "puffy" — soft, porous snow that does not harden and almost does not collapse.

The total length of the trails in Gesh is more than 35 thousand meters. There are also easy ones that fans of calm skiing will appreciate, and quite difficult ones for confident athletes. Do you prefer a free descent? Routes for extreme athletes are also available here. The resort even organizes separate freeride tours.

The season opens with the Yeti holiday. The mythical Snowman is a kind of Gesh symbol. New Year and Maslenitsa are celebrated on a grand scale, and in April a big music festival is held. So if you manage to plan a vacation for the time of such events, you will definitely not be bored. And there are also many locations in Sheregesh where you can take a breath after the races: baths, saunas, wellness centers, attractions and snow parks.

2. Beaver Log Fanpark

  • How to get: from the railway station of Krasnoyarsk by city bus to the stop "Fanpark Bobrovy log".
  • When it is better to go: at any time of the year.
  • How many trails: 15 and 2 training runs.

The resort is notable not only for trails of different difficulty levels. In winter, you can ride the Rodelban attraction here. This is a roller coaster, where instead of standard trailers there are small sleds for bobsleigh. "Rodelban" works at a temperature of -15 degrees, so then it will be great to warm up with Siberian tea. Do you want something less extreme? Take an air sleigh and try "Snow Tubing". This is a hundred-meter slide for skiing with the whole family.

If you are going to visit Krasnoyarsk before the beginning of winter, you will have time to ride the Ziprider attraction. This is a cable car on which passengers fly over the slope at a speed of up to 90 km/h. By the way, the summer season ends with the "Gornoluzhnik" competition — skiing on water slopes. The funnier the participant's costume and swimming equipment, the more chances he has to win. And the jury evaluates the descent. We flew like a swallow over the whole slide — consider the prize in your hands.

3. Mount Sable

  • How to get: from Irkutsk by minibus or train, and from Ulan‑Ude by minibus to Baikalsk or the train "Naushki — Irkutsk".
  • When it is better to go: from November to April.
  • How many runs: 18.

As in Baikalsk, near which the resort is located, the temperature here rarely drops below 15 degrees, so extreme frost will not prevent you from conquering the slopes. By the way, it is also cool here in spring, but this does not frighten tourists: every season on Sable ends with the annual flash mob "Descent in swimsuits".

If you want to diversify your outdoor activities, go to the pool or have a basketball team match in the game room. And for those who need to lie down quietly after the descent, there is a spa center on the territory of the resort.

If you are tired of riding, visit the Baikal Biosphere Reserve. You will be able to see with your own eyes sables, minks, lynxes and deer that walk quietly throughout the territory. And there is a ski lift here all year round, so people come to enjoy the views of the mountains even in summer.

4. Big Woodyavr

  • How to get: from Khibiny airport by minibus or bus to Kirovsk, then by bus to the complex.
  • When it is better to go: from December to May.
  • How many trails: 24 and a training slope.

"Woodyavr" is translated from the language of the indigenous Sami people as "lake". There are two of them here. Maloe is located not far from another ski resort — "Kukisvumchorr". But the big one is very close to this resort. Hence the name.

Most of the descents here are "blue" — those are designed for beginners. But a couple of "red" and "black" will also be found. And there is also a training slope for those who are just trying themselves in skiing.

Tired of skiing — relax by the lake. If you are lucky enough to be here in December or January, there is a chance to see the Northern lights. By the way, the weather in this region is changeable. The minimum temperature on the slopes is usually not lower than -17 degrees, but snowfalls and blizzards can interfere with sports plans. It is convenient to track the work of the trails in such cases through the resort's mobile application.

5. Dombay

  • How to get: from Mineralnye Vody to Cherkessk, Karachayevsk or Teberda, then by bus or taxi to the village of Dombay.
  • When it is better to go: at any time of the year.
  • How many runs: 12.

This resort has been operating since the XX century. Once it attracted fans of extreme sports with its inaccessibility — they came here to conquer the mountains. Now Dombay will be interesting to those who are far from the excitement of skiing. Beginners are waiting for gentle and straight tracks, and pros — tracks with steep turns.

Lovers of a more relaxing holiday can take a ride on the cable car, walk through the gorges and enjoy the national cuisine of the North Caucasus. Feel free to order pilaf with mutton, hychiny, lagman and even mountain trout dishes. And be sure to take a look at the souvenir market. In addition to the usual plates and magnets, you can buy herbal teas, honey, jam from cones and wine here.

6. Grace

  • How to get: from Barnaul, Gorno‑Altaysk or Novosibirsk by regular bus to Belokurikha.
  • When it is better to go: from December to mid-March.
  • How many runs: 6.

"Grace" is the largest ski resort in Belokurikha. There are five of them in the city. There are almost no winds here, so you can ride comfortably even at -20 degrees. Although the season officially starts in December, skiers and snowboarders appear at the resort in mid-November. At this time, the first snow covers the mountains.

Have you never skated? It doesn't matter, there is a ski school in "Grace". The coach will teach you to stand confidently on a board or ski and descend small slopes without fear.

By the way, in the summer in Belokurikha is also not boring. If you like to relax like a savage, take a guitar and go to a tent camp near the cable car. If you do not want to leave civilization, pay attention to the sanatorium "Belokur". There are only 28 rooms here, so the tourist bustle will not prevent you from relaxing.

7. Lipakha

  • How to get: from Yekaterinburg by train "Chusovskaya — Kaliynaya PPK" or from Perm by transfer bus or railway express directly to the complex.
  • When it is better to go: at any time of the year.
  • How many runs: 17.

The resort is open all year round. In winter, you can ride one of the 17 trails here, and in summer go hiking, take part in a bike tour or kayak. Children will also have something to do: there is a club for young skiers at the resort.

You can get to the slopes on one of the five lifts. There are also freeride zones here, so extreme athletes will not get bored. If you don't like thrills, take a walk through the gorges and mountains in the vicinity or take a look at the husky kennel.

In April, Gubaha Beach ICE Weekend is held here — a costume party in the beach style. Here, as in "Mount Sable", you can also go down the slope in a swimsuit. And also compete for the title of the best pizza eater.

These are not all ski resorts in Russia — there are more than two hundred of them, and each is notable for its own characteristics. If you have a personal favorite, you can vote for him in the people's competition of the national award "Our Mountains".

The reception of votes starts on September 1 and will last until October 15. After that, hundreds of resorts from 85 subjects will compete for victory in 40 nominations. Already on October 30, it will be known where the best trails, hotels and spa complexes are waiting for tourists.
