Any trip is accompanied by a small preliminary period of preparation for it, during which you need to have time to do a lot of things. I offer you a small checklist that you should not forget to make before traveling (these tips relate primarily to safety).
1) Write down the bank's phone number on a separate piece of paper — you will use it to call with a request to block the bank card if it is stolen from you (we hope, however, that this will never happen to you). 90% of unhappy travelers remember too late that the bank's phone number is written on it itself. 2) Tell your relatives or friends where you are going, with an exact indication of your location, hotel phone numbers and other information. Arrange with them for regular communication with a certain frequency, for example, once a day or once every two days. It can make your lot easier if something happens to you.3) Find out the phone number of the embassy or consulate in the country you are going to and write it down.
4) Make photocopies of your passport and driver's license and carry them with you, leave the original documents in the safes of the hostel.5) If you have a large and beautiful «DSLR » (and probably quite expensive) — change the branded belt to something simpler, seal it with the name of the manufacturer with black tape. Large and expensive cameras attract the attention of intruders quite well.
6) Buy a special belt bag for money and documents, put on under trousers — carry documents and money in it. Even if you get into trouble, the contents of your pants will be of least interest to intruders.
7) Arrange a separate drawing on the topic of travel safety. Purposefully look for information about the dangers of being in a particular city, about how to call the police, about what is prohibited (for example, in Barcelona you can't walk down the street without a T-shirt, and in Helsinki you can't drink alcohol in glassware and smoke on the street). If you are going to a big city, find out which areas you should not enter without great need.
